Dear Colleague,

We cordially invite you to a StringMasters workshop at the University of A Coruña, Spain, from January 18th to 20th, 2016.  The webpage for the workshop is now available (http://lbd.udc.es/stringmasters2016) and will be updated throughout December.

Several distinguished computer scientists will be in A Coruña at that time for Alberto Ordóñez's PhD defence in the morning of the 19th.  Apart from this event there is no formal program: StringMasters workshops feature relaxed collaboration between researchers at all levels (senior, junior, and especially graduate students) on current string-related problems of particular theoretical or practical interest.

StringMasters workshops started in 2007 at McMaster, Canada, and have now been held over 20 times on four continents.  Several special issues of international journals have been arranged for the publication of results obtained at, or as a result of, StringMasters workshops.

Preliminary information about travel, accommodation and the city of A Coruña --- a popular destination for sailing, scuba diving, seafood and surfing with an active lighthouse dating from the Roman era --- can be found on the webpage, and more will be added throughout December.

Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided during breaks, and the Faculty has an excellent cafeteria where two-course lunches can be purchased for €6.50.  If social events are arranged, details will be posted on the workshop webpage.  There is no registration fee but please email Travis Gagie <travis.gagie@cs.helsinki.fi> or Susana Ladra <susana.ladra@udc.es> to let us know you're coming.

We look forward to see you in A Coruña!
Travis Gagie and Susana Ladra
