The Algorithms Group at the University of Marburg is seeking a
postdoctoral researcher in algorithms and data
structures, analysis of algorithms, or algorithm engineering.<br>
The position is funded by the EPSRC Project <i>Computing over
Compressed Graph-Structured Data</i> [1].<br>
<br>
This position is initially until December 2027 with the likely
possibility of an extension for 6 months. Responsibilities
include work on the project, revolving around space-efficient data
structures for graphs.<br>
The application deadline is <b>16 August 2026</b>, via [2]. <br>
<br>
We offer an annual gross salary of at least €61,000 (TV-H E13
100%, rises commensurate with experience [3]) and a generous
travel budget. <br>
German language are <b>not</b> required. The official job
advertisement is in German, but English application materials are
very welcome. <br>
<br>
Documented expertise in one of the following topics is desirable
for this post: succinct data structures, data compression,
information theory, analysis of algorithms, graph theory, discrete
optimization, data structure lower bounds, approximation
algorithms, beyond-worst-case analysis, algorithm engineering.<br>
Strong candidates with the willingness to pivot into these areas
are encouraged to apply.<br>
