Dear colleagues,

I am seeking candidates for a 3-year postdoc in algorithms and data
structures in the Department of Computer Science at the University of
Liverpool.

The postdoc is funded by the EPSRC project “Computing over Compressed
Graph-Structured Data”, led by Sebastian Wild (https://www.wild-inter.net/).
The goal of the project is to develop foundations for new
space-efficient (succinct / compressed) data structures that allow to
store “structure data” (trees, graphs, etc.; labeled and unlabeled) in
“small space” (ideally close to an information-theory lower bound),
while supporting efficient queries on the data.

Potential research areas for this post include data structures,
compression methods, graph theory, and analysis of algorithms; the
project is open to a range of adjacent topics.  If you are unsure
whether your research interests fit in or have any other questions,
please drop me a line (sebastian.wild at liverpool.ac.uk).

The position is for 3 years; the starting date is flexible.
Details on salary and how to apply here:

(job ref 066787 on https://recruit.liverpool.ac.uk/)

Best,
Sebastian Wild

PS:  I am also recruiting for a fully-funded PhD position (UK Home
student fees only).  The position is for 3.5 years and the topic is in
the general area of algorithms and data structures. More details can be
found here:
