Open PhD position at the research group Theoretical Computer Science at University of Siegen, Germany

The research group for Theoretical Computer Science (https://www.eti.uni-siegen.de/ti) at University of Siegen is offering a PhD position
(german salary group 13 TV-L, full-time) for a period of 3 years with the option of a further extension for another 3 years).

Your tasks include:

- Collaboration on our research projects "Algorithmic group theory", "Grammar-based compression" or "Streaming algorithms in language theory"
  (see https://www.eti.uni-siegen.de/ti/research.html for further details)
- Preparation and participation in publications at relevant conferences and journals
- Participation in teaching and supervision of bachelor/master theses

The position involves a teaching obligation of 3 full hours per week during the semesters. Teaching language is German.

Recruitment requirements:

- Completed scientific university studies (M.Sc. or comparable degree) in computer science or mathematics
- Profound knowledge in the field of theoretical computer science (in particular automata theory, algorithms, complexity theory)
  and discrete mathematics
- Good written and spoken English and German knowledge
- Ability to work in a team, communicative and organizational skills
