4th Call for Papers
20th RECOMB-CG conference
April 14-15, 2023, Istanbul, Turkey
Website: https://recomb-cg.org/
Submission deadline: February 2, 2023 (extended)

The RECOMB-CG satellite conference was founded in 2003 and brings together leading researchers in the mathematical, computational, and life sciences to discuss cutting edge research in comparative genomics, with an emphasis on computational approaches and novel experimental results. The program includes invited speakers, contributed talks, and poster sessions. The 20th RECOMB-CG workshop will be held on April 14–15, 2023, and will be co-located with RECOMB 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey.<webextlink://The%2020th%20RECOMB-CG%20workshop%20will%20be%20held%20on%20April%2014–15,%202023,%20and%20will%20be%20co-located%20with%20RECOMB%202023%20in%20Istanbul,%20Turkey.>

We welcome submission of papers reporting on original research (both theoretical and experimental) in all areas of computational molecular biology. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: genome evolution, genome rearrangements, genomic variation, diversity and dynamics, computational pangenomics, gene identification and annotation, methods for genome assembly, cancer evolutionary genomics, comparative epigenomics, population genomics, pangenomics, phylogenomics and phylodynamics, paleogenomics, epidemiology and related areas, metagenomics, machine learning in genomics. We encourage submissions that offer new biological findings or otherwise highlight their relevance to biology.

Submitted manuscripts may not have not been published or be currently under consideration for publication in any other journal or conference with a refereed, archival proceedings. Accepted papers will be published as a proceedings volume in the Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) series from Springer-Verlag. Each accepted paper must be presented by one of the authors at the conference. All submissions must be made online through the EasyChair submission system, at the following address: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=recomb2023, selecting the RECOMB-CG track. Deadline for submissions is February 2, 2023 (anywhere on Earth); preliminary submission of title and abstract to speed up reviewing process is welcome. Papers must be at most 15 pages long, excluding the bibliography. A clearly marked appendix can be added to the submission that contains supplementary material made available to the reviewers.

Journal special issue. Authors of selected contributions will be invited to submit an extended version of the paper for a journal special issue in the Journal of Computational Biology with discounted fees.

Special handling of papers submitted to RECOMB 2023. If you would like to submit a paper previously considered for RECOMB 2023 to RECOMB-CG, you have the option to transfer your reviews. In that case, please submit by the regular deadline and include in your submission a cover Letter that includes the reviews received from RECOMB together with a rebuttal addressing the concerns raised by the reviewers. The submitted manuscript should also be modified according to the reviews, or provide an explanation of why modifications are unnecessary. All reviews will be treated confidentially and will only be visible to the PC members. Note that authors of papers rejected by RECOMB 2023 may also submit their paper without transferring their reviews, if they wish to do so.
