[CPM-SPIRE-L] 2 Post-doc positions at Ca' Foscari University, Venice, Italy

The selection procedures for *2 postdoc positions* in the field of
string/graph algorithms and data structures are open:

*Deadline* for the applications: July 21, 2022 at 12:00 CET time.

*Description*: the positions are funded by an ERC starting grant holded by
Nicola Prezza (https://nicolaprezza.github.io/). The researchers will work
with the PI and his team on the development of a new technique for
compressing and indexing labeled graphs (see
https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.5555/3458064.3458217 for more details).
Applications are welcome from researchers with experience in any of the
topics below:

- coding in C++
- string processing
- combinatorics on strings
- compressed data structures
- regular language theory
- algorithms and data structures for graphs / strings
- data compression
- bioinformatics (in particular, sequence alignment)

The duration of each of the two postdoc positions is one year, with the
possibility to extend for 2 further years. The *net* salary is about *2300
eur* per month. There are no teaching duties associated with the position.
A PhD in CS/math is a plus but not a strict requirement. The grant will
cover travel expenses to conferences/workshops in the field.
