        *AIM AND SCOPE*
        The 2022 edition of Lipari School on Computational Complex and Social Systems aims
        to provide state-of-the-art  research on Data Science bringing opportunities to collect
        experience with modern data analysis, particularly Big Data analytics.
        This includes subjects to mine data in the Internet of Things and Smart Cities.
        The courses will be delivered by world-renowned scientists and will cover cutting-edge topics.
        The school aims to provide, in a friendly environment, a stimulating, exciting, and constructive
        opportunity for Ph.D. students and researchers. Indeed, the selected participants will
        have the chance to interact with world leaders in the field.

       This year the school will also host a Special Event on the "20 years after the FM-index",
       organized by Paolo Ferragina and Giovanni Manzini, University of Pisa.

        Participants will be arranged in comfortable hotels at very special rates (https://complex22.liparischool.it/accommodation-and-costs).
        The conference room is air-conditioned and equipped with all conference materials. Special areas are reserved to students for
        the afternoon coursework and study. The island of Lipari can be easily reached from Milazzo, Palermo, Naples, Messina and Reggio
        Calabria by ferry or hydrofoil (50 minutes from Milazzo - https://complex22.liparischool.it/travel-information).
        Two kinds of participants are welcome. Students: Participants who are expected to do afternoon coursework and take a final exam
        (The grades will be given following the ECTS grading scale). The course will involve a total of 24 hours of teaching.
        Registration fee is 500 €. The fee covers the course material, bus+hydrofoil Catania airport-Lipari-Catania airport, social events
        and coffee breaks. Late registration is 600 €. Applications can be submitted up to May 30st, 2022. Late registrations will be accepted
        until July 1st, 2022.
        The official language is English.
