[CPM-SPIRE-L] X International Course on Massive Data Analysis: Transcriptomics 10-14 March 2014 Valencia

Dear colleagues,

 

We are pleased to announce the X International Course on Massive Data
Analysis: TRANSCRIPTOMICS that will be held from the 10th-14th March 2014 at
the Príncipe Felipe Research Center in Valencia (Spain).

 

RNA-Seq data from next generation sequencing technologies allows the study
of genome-wide gene expression data at an unprecedented level of detail.
However, data analysis is still a major bottleneck for many researchers who
are struggling with decisions on adequate experimental designs and analysis
pipelines. The aim of this course is introduce participants to the basics
concepts of RNA-seq, Chip-seq and DNAse-seq data analysis and to provide
hands-on training on the usage of established bioinformatics tools. We
include one session of experimental design issues to facilitate decisions
when addressing experimental and analysis strategies. Lectures and hands-on
sessions are taught in the facilities of the CIPF, which provide the ideal
environment for the organization of bioinformatic courses. 

 

This 5 days course is mainly oriented to experimental researchers,
post-doctoral and PhD students who want to learn about the state-of-the-art
of transcriptomic data analysis methodologies and carry out their own
analysis.

 

Social activities are organised during the course to favour networking and
exchange of experiences among the students, as well as to promote a fruitful
dialog between teachers and students.

 

The official language of the course is English. Full details of the program
