[We apologize if you receive multiple copies of this CFP.]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We warmly invite contributions to the StringMasters 2012 & 2013
Special Issue of the Journal of Discrete Algorithms according to the
following preliminary CFP:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*****   CALL FOR PAPERS: StringMasters 2012 & 2013  *****

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

StringMasters is focussed on generating new collaborations, activating
research and publishing papers that emerge out of discussions at the
workshops. Hence a collection of papers originating from any of the
Rouen 2012, London 2012, Verona 2013, and Prague 2013 meetings will be
selected for a Special Issue of the Journal of Discrete Algorithms
(JDA). For further information on this international journal please
see:

The special issue is centred on STRINGOLOGY, in any of the fields

- Combinatorics on words
- Algorithms on strings
- Applications of strings

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

* automata theory
* big data
* bioinformatics
* cache complexity
* compression
* data mining
* data structures
* geometry
* graphics
* graph problems
* indexing
* information theory
* internet issues
* musicology
* natural language processing
* network security
* statistics on words
* string matching

** Papers which are pure theory, theory supported by experimentation,
and applied research are encouraged.

** Unpublished StringMasters results from previous workshops may be
submitted (even if the authors were unable to attend any of the recent
StringMasters).

** Papers must contain previously unpublished material; however, full
versions of conference manuscripts may be submitted subject to citing
the conference paper.

** Survey papers which are relevant to the topics of the special issue
are welcome and will be considered at the discretion of the editors.

** Submissions by non-participants will be considered subject to
relevance: please contact the editors.

** Submissions should be typically 10 - 20 pages (shorter or longer
papers will be considered at the discretion of the editors).

** All submitted papers will be refereed according to the usual JDA
refereeing process, namely a minimum of two reviews but usually three.

The preliminary schedule:

 - Deadline for submission: 1 Nov 2013
 - Notification to authors: 1 March 2014
 - Submission of revised version: 15 April 2014
 - Response to authors: 1 June 2013
 - Submission of final version: 1 August 2014

Expressions of interest in the StringMasters 2012 & 2013 special issue
